The first session lasts 1h and the following check-ups last 45min.
What is Acupuncture?
It is the best known discipline of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), with more than 3,000 years old has demonstrated over the centuries its strength and success as a method to cure disease and also to promote health.
The Chinese tradition conceives the world as a WHOLE that is interrelated and our body is not exempt from this concept, NOTHING IN IT WORKS IN ISOLATION.
The concept of HEALTH in TCM is reduced to a “perfect balance”. When this state of equilibrium is destroyed and not restored, DISEASE appears. This loss of harmony can be caused by three factors: environment, emotions and lifestyle.
The fundamental basis of acupuncture is the idea that the body is traversed by a series of channels or meridians through which the QI ( Vital Energy) and Xue ( Blood) flow. In the course of these meridians we will find the main acupuncture points, these will act as energy wells through which we can manipulate the QI and XUE and restore balance and health.
How does an acupuncture session work?
To reach a diagnosis as accurate as possible is necessary to conduct an extensive interview with the patient, his/her tongue and pulse will also be monitored as well as his/her general appearance.
According to the conclusions, the therapist will make a selection of points that will make up the treatment of the session. By inserting fine needles in these points (always single-use and sterilized), the aim is to restore the lost balance and the patient’s physical and mental health and well-being as soon as possible.
How long does a session usually last?
The first visit will be more extensive, where we will make the assessment, diagnosis and appropriate treatment. It usually lasts between 1h and 1h 30 min depending on the case, the check-up sessions are usually shorter, between 45min and 1h.
What is it indicated for?
