Wireless electrostimulation
An effective complement to physiotherapy sessions.
Electrostimulation is a technique that consists of applying electrical stimuli to specific muscles to provoke sequences of well calculated and defined muscular contractions.
These stimuli are achieved through the application of adhesive electrodes on the skin which, connected to a device called an electro stimulator, generates electrical impulses that mimic those generated by our own body.
The session begins with an anamnesis of the patient, physical, biomechanical and palpatory examination of muscle and joint tensions.
Eventually, if the injury requires it, we will make a functional analysis of effort in our specially equipped rehabilitation room, which will allow us to evaluate the possible presence of physical deficiencies during the execution of specific active exercises.
Once the factors that have facilitated the onset of the injury have been detected, we proceed to inform the therapeutic protocol to be followed, as well as the prognosis of how long your recovery will take. Then, with the patient’s consent, the therapy begins.
Who is it recommended for?
For anyone who needs to improve their physical condition or regain strength in any area of their body after a period of convalescence or immobilization.
Is it painful?
No, in any case it is not, it can be uncomfortable the first few times it is used until the body gets used to this type of stimulus.
Do I get stiffness in the following days?
Stiffness can often occur, particularly after the first session. But they are usually mild in intensity. For this reason, we recommend stretching after each session to help minimize the appearance of stiffness.
What equipment do we have?
At CORPORIS we have the latest generation Chatanooga Wireless equipment (Compex), which allows muscle stimulation with total freedom of movement while performing active or active-assisted exercises, allowing greater effectiveness and precision than conventional electrostimulation equipment.
