Duration
Between 15 – 20 minutes.
The kinesiotape, also known as kinesiotaping or neuromuscular bandage, is an elastic bandage that helps the neuromuscular function without limiting joint movements, maintaining an adequate blood and lymphatic circulation, factors that favor the normal recovery process of the injured structure.
What does its application consist of?
The neuromuscular bandage is usually placed on the musculature starting from a stretched position. Due to the elastic characteristics of the bandage, when the muscle returns to its natural position, the skin rises slightly, forming skin folds that increase the subcutaneous cellular space, where the capillaries and neuroreceptors are located, generating numerous beneficial effects.
These tapes adhered to the skin are worn for a period of 1 to 6 days, depending on the objective pursued and the characteristics of the patient’s skin.
What are the effects?
What is it indicated for?
Tendinopathies, painful shoulder, cervical pain, low back pain, runner’s knee, scars, sprains, joint instability, muscle ruptures, edema, lymphedema…
It has no side effects or contraindications, except that it should not be applied to wounds in the process of healing.
