TRAUMA PHYSIOTHERAPY
Recovery of post-traumatic injuries
The knowledge and experience acquired from the Classic Physiotherapy together with the specialized training in trauma pathologies create the concept of Trauma Physiotherapy, being this the set of techniques and physiotherapy protocols applied to the recovery of these pathologies.
The session begins with an anamnesis of the patient, visualization of the documents and complementary tests provided as well as physical, biomechanical and palpatory exploration of the muscular and articular tensions of the affected region.
Once the factors causing the pain and limited mobility have been detected, the patient is informed of the treatment and the steps to follow for recovery are explained to him/her.
Then, with the patient’s consent, the therapy begins.
Who can benefit from this therapy?
Anyone who has experienced traumatic events.
Is the treatment painful?
Depending on the type of pain, the application of certain techniques may generate discomfort because we are treating areas of the body that are highly susceptible or even swollen as a result of the pathological process for which they come to the clinic.
In any case, the treatment will always be adapted to the patient’s tolerance level in order to make the session as comfortable as possible.
What can I expect the following days?
After the session, it is common to feel much better than at the beginning of the session. It is important to identify this symptomatic relief because it indicates that we have performed the treatment in an effective way.
Frequently after a few hours and especially the following day, symptoms of slight tiredness or stiffness may appear in the treated areas, which are usually mild in intensity and disappear after 48 hours, leaving only the improvement achieved in the session.
How much time should pass between sessions?
Depending on each case, the appropriate periodicity is studied and recommended.
