Duration
The first session lasts 1h and the following check-ups last 45min.
The fascia is the connective tissue that we find in our body wrapping all body structures, giving them support, connecting them together and determining their shape. We can define it as a kind of uninterrupted network of body communication, becoming a sophisticated means of transport between and through all the systems of the organism.
The structural change of the fascia called “myofascial dysfunction”can be produced by different traumas, not only by a blow or a fall, it can have a mechanical or emotional cause, for example a surgical intervention, a painful menstruation, an emotional trauma, an incorrect posture… Untreated myofascial dysfunction leads the patient to a vicious circle of tension and muscle spasm, producing organic dysfunction and pain.
A healthy and balanced fascial system guarantees the body the possibility of a complete and synchronized movement, with maximum functional efficiency and minimum energy expenditure.
Myofascial therapy is a simultaneous method of evaluation and treatment, in which through sustained three-dimensional pressures applied to the fascial system, the release of the restrictions is sought in order to balance the body function.
The session begins with an anamnesis of the patient, biomechanical and palpatory physical examination of muscle and joint tensions.
Eventually, if the injury requires it, we will perform a functional analysis of effort in our specially equipped rehabilitation room, which will allow us to evaluate the possible presence of physical deficiencies during the execution of specific active exercises.
Once the factors that have caused the lesion are detected, the patient will be informed of the therapeutic protocol to be followed, as well as the prognosis of how long the recovery will take. Then, with the patient’s consent, the therapy begins.
